September 21, 1847      Distribution of stamps to Governor & lady Gomm to frank their invitations for the ball
September 22, 1847      Public sale of   " Post Office " stamps
September 30, 1847      Ball of Lady Gomm at the Government House, Port Louis
1869                              Madame Borchard of  Bordeaux discovered the stamps among correspondences from her fiancée stationed in Mauritius, in 1847 and sold them to Madame Desbois, a local dealer in the same year.
